Davido loses two crew members in a week, singer under investigation

All is not well in Nigerian music star Davido's camp. He has lost two crew members in the space of a week.

He first lost his friend Tagbo Umeke on Monday, October 2. He broke the news of the death of another friend, DJ Olu, also a crew member, on his Instagram handle Saturday night, October 7.

Davido was forced to refute allegations by actress, Caroline Danjuma, that Tagbo Umeke, who was alleged to be in the company of singer and his crew, died mysteriously.

Denying any wrong doing, the 'If' hit singer said: "RIP Tagbo, God knows the truth! People are just wicked. This what I get for treating everyone like my brother. I was deeply saddened to hear of the sudden death of my friend, Tagbo. First and foremost, my sincere condolences and prayers are with his family and friends at this time."

"I've been in this position before multiple times and also of recent. But it is also disappointing that false information and complete lies have been put out there, using my name as usual. Out of total respect for Tagbo and his family, I will not discuss this matter further for now. Rest in peace Tagbo….David adeleke," he said.

DJ Olu, who is said to the son of Nigerian billionaire Dapo Abiodun, was reportedly found dead in his car.

Nigeria's Vanguard reported on Wednesday that, Davido was arrested by the police on Wednesday upon discovering that his statement on Tagbo Umeke's death was laced with falsehood.

According to the Vanguard, Davido, during investigation by the police, told the investigative team at Lion Building division in Lagos Island, that he was not at Shisha bar, from where Tagbo Umeke was rushed and dumped at the Lagos Island General.

Davido in his statement also said that he had left the bar, for DNA night club in Victoria Island, from where he was informed about his friend's death.

Imohimi Edgal, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police command, briefing journalists on the update of the investigation, disclosed that their preliminary investigation revealed that Tagbo Umeke was rushed to the hospital on music star's instruction.

Davido in a post on Instagram Wednesday night said: "My heart is rare and the world knows!! Please God Keep my heart same! Please don't give me a change of heart Lord! I shall remain a giving being amen!"
