Babes Wodumo talks MAMAS and red carpet

Just two days left before the MAMAs and we had chat with the sensational Babes Wodumo, to talk Wololo and her red carpet drama.

It appears that Babes Wodumo has been approached by more than 15 designers who want to dress her for the MAMAs. "It's my first time being nominated for an award and I never  thought that the first nomination I'd get would be from the MAMAs, this is truly overwhelming!" Babes said.

The singer said she didn't just pop up one day, she'd been working with Mampintsha of Big Nuz and other Durban artists before releasing 'Wololo'. Even so, Babes said she is scared to be put in a category with singers she's looked up to.

"It is very scary, I only have a single and the people who are in the same category with me already have albums and the fact that these are MAMAs, I don't know what to say rather than to say this can only be God, this is his mercy," she said.

When asked who she's gives thanks to for her recognition, Babes said "I can thank a lot of people for where I am today but God is the one who directs my steps."

Speaking about what she will be rocking on the night, Babes said she in not sure yet but one thing she knows is that she will be looking spectacular. "Can you believe that more that 15 designers wants to dress me for the MAMAs, that is just unbelievable for me, 15? I'm just a young girl who's just had her first step at the door,' she said.

The singer also talked about her much anticipated debut album, saying they're busy with the final touch ups and it should be ready soon.
