Best dressed at the 2017 South African Music Awards

The South African Music Awards took place at Sun City this past weekend. Awards drama aside, South African ladies and gents put their best foot forward in the most instagrammable frocks, tuxedos, and makeup done by the gods.

Now in their 23rd year running – SAMA awards honour the finest music talent in South Africa over a two day period. Over the years the SAMA's have been hosted by the likes of Bonang, Kabelo and more recently Somizi who seems to be a favourite with the South African audience.

In terms of fashion, it was a complete slayage. Once you see who we have picked as our best dressed you will understand why we call it that.

Our girl Bonang dazzled in a red off shoulder corset dress by Orapeng Modutle. B, who always rocks Gert Johan Coetzee, looked stunning in this number. Her pop of red lips and side curls took this look up 100 notches. We like!
Awards host and also Bonang's ex-BFF apparently had his outfit designed already a couple of months ago. He looked like he'd just stepped out of a futuristic movie in this gold metallic ensemble by Zarth design. BET Africa family, does he get a yay or a nay?
Another one who slayed and looked absolutely graceful and sophisticated was BET Africa Presenter, Knaomi in this baby-blue off-shoulder gown by Inga Madyibi. It seems like she is finally coming into her own and embracing her style. Way to go girl!
Lorna Maseko served legs in a leather peplum boob tube dress also by Orapeng Modutle. Is it us or has Lorna totally gotten her sexy back? She looks and feels like a new person. And oh Lorna, that fringe is goals.
Nomalanga served hair, leg and dress goals at the SAMA's. Her baby pink lacy dress by @goodfriday80 with layers, the big afro and legs really had us looking. She was such a flame.
