BlaXcellence in the SA fashion scene

BlaXcellence goes beyond a social media trends. It is a notion that is indicative of who we are, our extraordinary accomplishments, creativity and ingenuity. We've compiled a list to honour black excellence in 2016's fashion scene. From Ntozinhle accessorize to Khosi Nkosi and NN Vintage and more.

Ntozinhle Accessorize

From accessorising Winnie Mandela, Terrence Howard, Taraji. P Henson, Unathi and being go-to lady for celebrity accessories. Sphelele Dlamini's shown us that blacXcellence can be achieved throughout the year.  Her accessories are fresh, bold, out of the box and celebrate the uniqueness of Africa. Ntozinhle sources her pieces from Kenya and has risen from being an Instagram boutique to opening her own shop in Soweto and supplying accessories for shoots, weddings and events.
NN Vintage

It's described as a lifestyle female brand that is inspired by the 40's to the 80's era. Boasting frills, sequins, doeks, African fabrics and so much more, this is another brand that enjoyed great success in 2016.

The 2016 MBFW ramp was lit with celebrities draped in NN vintage dresses which resulted in top local magazine coverage.
Khosi Nkosi

From YDE exclusivity to being worn by almost every top celebrity in SA, Khosi Nkosi has redefined the game and the term Boss Ladies. Lupita also wore a Khosi Nkosi item when she visited SA. Now if that's not big then we don't know what is
Amaxhosa by Laduma

Since starting his range in 2010 Ngxokolo has received numerous achievements and captures the hearts of fashion lovers and media from SA, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Oslo, Berlin and New York.

He recently won the 2015 Vogue Italia Scouting for Africa prize to showcase his collections at the Palazzo Morando Show in Milan, Italy.
Please join us in celebrating the sheer awesomeness of black folks in fashion. And be inspired because, yeah, we're pretty dope.
