In November 2014, bubbly Ghanaian Afrobeat musician, Itz Tifanny, made headlines for all the wrong reasons. She was in the news following a series of leaked sex tapes. Born Tiffany Owusu, the musician admitted that three videos, two of which were hers, were circulated by her estranged ex-husband after a bitter battle for the custody of their son.
Shortly after the videos had gone viral in 2014 she released a statement saying, “I have been involved in a long and bitter battle of custody of my son with my ex-husband for several years after our 7-year-old relationship broke down irretrievably. We had been married for four years – a period when I suffered untold abuses from him.”
Touching on how she managed to leave that chapter of her life, Itz Tiffany sat down with us to let us know how she’s doing, “Well I honestly wish I could say something deeply profound or philosophical about how my sheer resistance and tenacity got me through it but that will be a lie.”
“It was the grace of God that sustained me through it all, my family and a few friends stuck with me and that is how I made it here. All that is in the past, I am drawing strength and energy from it and edging on. She who is down fears no fall,” she added.
Almost two years after that unpleasant episode and also losing a record deal with UK-based Ghanaian musician Fuse ODG, Itz Tifanny has managed to pick up the pieces to continue her music career. “Well for now is music, music, music... new records, major collaborations.”
She disclosed that she has an European tour which will kick off in Denmark this October.
“I have a brand new single which features Ceeza Millia and is breaking the charts. We just dropped the video so it's back to back work. My new album is dropping in 2017 and a lot of the work is geared towards that now,” Itz Tiffany added.
