King Sunny Ade’s instruments preserved at a Museum

Legendary Nigerian musician, King Sunny Ade (69) popularly known as Minister of Enjoyment’s musical instruments will be preserved in the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) in Phoenix, Arizona.
The two-time Grammy nominee is among the world’s greatest artists to have their musical instruments preserved in the hallowed museum. King is said to have had recorded more than 120 albums and is considered as one of the most influential artists of all time.
The museum will also preserve his clothes for visitors to get the gist of his style. The museum accommodates not less than 16,000 instruments which belong to artists such as Elvis Presley. This won’t be the first time that King gets global recognition; in 2009 he was inducted into the Afropop Hall of Fame, at the Brooklyn African Festival.
The “king of juju music” has just returned to Nigeria from a US summer tour and is now gearing up to celebrate his 70th birthday and 50 years in the industry in December.
