Best dressed at the Met Gala

The beginning of May marks one of the biggest nights in fashion – the Met Gala.

Wikipedia defines the Met Gala as the annual fundraising gala for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute in New York City. The Met gala marks and celebrates the institute's fashion exhibit.

Each year's event celebrates the theme of that year's Costume Institute exhibition, and the exhibition sets the tone for the formal dress of the night since guests are expected to choose their fashion to match the theme of the exhibit.

Here are BET's best-dressed celebrities of the night.

Like the MET Gala princess she is, Rihanna ruled the red carpet once again. She showed up in a Commes des Garçons gown and jewellery by Rihanna Loves Chopard, Le Vian, and DVANI jewellery.
She tied her hair in a nice neat bun and her pink pop of makeup definitely took this look further. We also love her red shoes. They are so refreshing to this otherwise princes' dress.

Zendaya made this off shoulder tropical print; Dolce and Gabbana full ball skirt feel effortless. We love her fro and those orange lips totally won us over.
Solange is not one to go the conventional route. This year was no different, the singer wore a Thome Brown buffer coat with a train. Solange really breaks and rewrites all the fashion rules.  She makes us want fashion items we never thought we would want.
One of our favourite stars who is aging so gracefully – Tracee Ellis Ross wore an Avant-garde cobalt blue creation by Commes des Garcons, she paired with diamante studded heels.

We also love her clean face and sultry smokey eye. Simple yet so sophisticated.
Tennis champion, Serena  Williams showed off her cute baby bump in a curve-hugging custom Atelier Versace design that highlighted her figure in all the right places. Way to go champ!
So who won for you? Tell us in the comments section. #MetGala2017
