Drama after the SAMAs

Award-winning singer Zahara threatens to sue Somizi Mhlongo while Babes Wodumo and Mampintsha leave everyone in stitches

TV and radio personality Somizi Mhlongo might be in trouble after he joked about singer Zahara during the South African Music Awards (SAMAs).

Somizi co-hosted the award ceremony with comedian Tumi Morake, as usual the hosts will now and again take a jab at celebrities, while entertaining the audience. However, this time around the joke didn't sit well with Zahara and she has threatened to sue Somizi and the SAMAs.
Somizi jokingly said Zahara might be at the bar, making fun of Zahara's alleged drinking problem. Zahara has made headlines in the past few years, with claims that she has a drinking problem. She has however; a number of times denied the claims.

Well if that didn't leave you saying what? Mampintsha and Babes Wodumo's outburst after the event might have got you laughing. Just before the mics were even switched off, Babes and Mampintsha decided to record videos complaining about how unfair South Africans awards ceremony are.

Mampintsha who works closely with Babes and who is featured in almost all of Babes songs, said in the video that everyone is jealous of Babes and that her song trended the whole year even "white kids" were singing it but it does even get a single award. Babes in her video echoed the same sentiments saying "it is clear that awards are bought in SA".

The two stars later issued a statement through their record label West Ink and apologised for their outburst.

However their outburst didn't go unnoticed, "Black Twitter" took it too far with a parody video, mimicking the two artists. With the hashtag #MampintshaChallenge, people posted their hilarious videos complaining about everything they deem unfair.
