Nomalanga Shozi soars at the Soul Train Awards!

TV Personality, actress and radio host, Nomalanga Shozi has joined BET Africa as the new face for the channel! Shozi is set feature in content for BET Africa on the ground and on-air. The vibrant and stylish 24-year-old recently travelled to Las Vegas, Nevada in the USA to attend this year's BET Soul Train Awards to capture content from the red carpet and behind the scenes which will be aired on BET (DStv channel 129). The awards will broadcast on Thursday, 29 November at 21:00 CAT. January 2019 is set to truly solidify her place as part of the BET brand, where she will serve as the host of the local version of the international format, BET Breaks.

Nomalanga brings energy and enthusiasm as the face of BET in Africa".

BET Breaks will be where viewers catch-up on the latest local and international celebrity gossip, laughs, spice and news. The show begins in January 2019, airing weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Shozi  promises to entertain African audiences through captivating trends and news updates from Africa and abroad.
 
"I'm thrilled to have this opportunity to represent the continent," says Nomalanga. "I think that the show will create a special place in the hearts of African youth, while also providing the global platform to share the great stories that are happening here on our home soil."
Nomalanga, born and raised in the remote Port Shepstone of KwaZulu Natal has strode rapidly,and continues to reach amazing heights in her career. She began as  presenter on Ugu Youth Radio in Port Shepstone before her move to Gagasi Youth Station, the fastest-growing youth station in KwaZulu-Natal. She has hosted a number of VIMN Africa events including the recently launched BET's The Bobby Brown Story and live broadcasts during the MTV Road to MAMAs 2015. Nomalanga has also featured in the award winning local soapie Rhythm City after beating out over 5 000 hopefuls to win the open auditions.
 
Nomalanga is red carpet ready and will be representing BET in Africa on the ground at a number of international events, beginning with the BET Soul Train Awards, which took place on Sunday, 18 November in Las Vegas, Nevada.
"It was truly an honour to be reporting from the Soul Train Awards for BET Africa, and to be in the company of many respectable entertainers like Faith Evans, SZA, Normani, Kelly Price and Robert Glasper.
