For the first time in Africa, a reality TV show that showcases the best that fashion has to offer comes to your screen. Making waves and making history, MADE IN AFRICA is a Pan-African show that pits emerging fashion designers against each other in order to find unearth the ultimate design talent made in Africa.
Gorgeous host Nandi Madida who is no stranger to the fashion scene, helps bring the work of eighteen designers selected from all over the continent to life, counting down all the way to one winner.
Nandi is assisted by two mentors, Fezile Mdletshe, a new generation lecturer at the Durban University of Technology (DUT) school of fashion and Textile and Greg Wallis, a respected industry guru who has over 30 years’ experience in retail manufacturing business and mentoring young designers across the region, as well as Vanessa Leisegang, National Operation manager at The Space stores. A guest judge who’s an expert in the weekly theme will join the four panelists to complete a panel of five for each episode.
The panel tackles various topics in African and global fashion related to that theme in each episode and gets to judge the looks created by the two respective designers competing in that week. The overall top two designers to score the highest marks will get to compete in the final episode to determine the winner and they will each be required to produce a collection comprising six looks.
