Listen: Former UN Secretary General gets a song from Yemi Alade

Nigerian singer, Yemi Alade is singing about Ghana's illustrious son, Kofi Annan in her first song for 2016. The song, a freestyle over an infectious Afro beat, is titled 'Kofi Annan'.

In the song, she sings "…Let me see you do the Kofi Annan" as the chorus. It's unclear if she has a new dance move up her sleeves. We sure hope so!

Kofi Annan served as the seventh UN Secretary-General between 1997 and 2006. Kofi Annan and the UN were the co-recipients of the 2001 Nobel Peace Prize for their work for a better organized and more peaceful world.

Yemi who's known for the hit song 'Johnny' plays and rhymes with popular Ghanaian and Nigerian phrases in the new tune. She's currently gearing up to release her second album 'Mama Africa' in March.
