The award-winning play Eclipsed made history in 2016 when it became the first Broadway show with an all-black female cast and creative team. The documentary about the making of the play includes sit-down interviews with its stars (such as Lupita Nyong'o), as well as rehearsal footage. Shot on location, the documentary beautifully covers history in the making, following a group of women who are using art to spread a message of social injustice, both in the theatrical world and within war-torn Liberia – where the play is set.
